TOGS VOYAGE 2010 - £81,509 RAISED

The TOGs Voyage 2010 on Cunard's magnificent Queen Victoria was a 12 night round trip leaving Southampton on 14th  May 2010 returning on Wednesday 26th May 2010. In between we visited iBarcelona, Cannes, Livorno (Florence/Pisa), Civitavecchia (Rome) and Gibraltar before returning to Southampton. There are some photos already on the site, CLICK HERE for the 2010 photos. If you have any photos of the voyage you would like to share with us email them to hellenbach@ntlworld.com or send them on a CD to: Charity Goods, PO Box 695, Newport, South Wales, NP20 4ZU

Initial comments from the TOGs on board was that everyone had a fantastic time, and thoroughly enjoyed the trip, and the entertainment provided by our guests from BBC Radio 2; Sir Terry Wogan, Alan "Deadly" Dedicoat, John "Boggy" Marsh and the lovely Janet, Charles "Chazza" Nove, Rev Ruth "Top Eclesiastical Totty" Scott, and a little from me as well.

You can read about some of our exploits on Alastair Greener's "We are Cunard" Blog - CLICK HERE - and the intrepid, boogie loving, late night hosting, all protecting Charles Nove's Blog - CLICK HERE.

With the 10% donations from Cunard, and the fundraising from the on-board activities and merchandise sales, the TOG Voyage has generated over £81,000 for BBC Children in Need, which, at the end of the day, is the real purpose of the trip, and we all had a bit of fun along the way. We would like to thank Cunard for their very generous support of the fundraising effort, and we would also like to thank Cliff Lazarenko, who was quietly enjoying the voyage with his lovely wife, but when he heard we were fundraising for BBC Children in Need, offered himself up to run a dart challenge to raise funds, and became a celebrity panel member for Blankety Blank, manfully filling in for Deadly who had been trapped in the UK by that damned Icelandic ash cloud!

Thanks also to the TOGs who generously booked the trip to help the fundraising, who were then fleeced again on board from our selling them stuff and getting them to bid for auction items, but who were the most generous and friendly people you could meet. They really did make all the hard work of everyone of us who put this thing together really worth while.

Special mentions go to Dan Kirkby who really does make thing happen despite all the adversity and to Cristina Muñoz who was magnificent at organising everyone on board and going the extra mile to make sure things were just right!

To the TOGs who asked, who knows, maybe we will do it again!
